New York

The Guggenheim, the MOMA...
Tess isn't a big culture fan. The mention of a museum and she falls asleep or starts to rub her eyes.
Too much to see and so little time. New York has to be one of the highlights of not only this holiday but all our holidays.
Grand Central Station, The Empire State building, the Flat Iron, Radio City Music Hall, the Shake Shack...yummm

It was a windy boat ride on the Staten Island ferry with plenty to see out of the window.

We thought the architecture was absolutely fabulous and we had a great time walking through the city's iconic streets.
We soared to the top of the Rock and got an amazing view of New York.

Tess took immediately to the comforts of Central Park. At the water play she was excited about joining in on the action and this experience was to bring about squeals of excitement every day as we entered the park.

Washington DC

Our Eastern American journey began in DC last week and we memorialed our way through a truly lovely city. It reminded us a little of Canberra, but on a much grander scale, of course. We have got into the groove of travelling with a baby and Tess is proving to be a little trooper. It probably helps that she is extremely sociable and is forever trying to get someone's attention and give them a smile. Consequently, we are meeting lots of locals.

This shot is from just before we left but it really needed to be seen to be believed. She knows it's funny to wear fake glasses. She often rips my glasses off but never wears them. These she'll wear for a laugh.
We are now in New York and I think it may have nudged San Francisco from my Top 5 cities. More photos of NY next week.

In the photos below we are actually in front of the White House. Squint a bit. See.
