This is some of the fun in the sun we've been able to get up to, in and around Denver, now the snow has melted. We finally drove out to Red Rocks
Amphitheatre. It is breathtaking. Previously, we've only seen it on the website and the U2 video. It was a physical workout for us to walk to the top of the theatre's steps. As we were doing this there were a range of fitness fanatics bolting up and down the tiers of the
amphitheatre and doing some sort of fireman's carry of a fellow exerciser at the top. We sucked in the beautiful surroundings and then set off back to the town of Golden, the home of Coors, to have lunch. Watching that much physical exercise made us very hungry. Golden is also beautiful. We strolled the main street and ate at a funky cafe. There was a moments confusion when I heard the waitress calling for Arnold Palmer to collect his drink. After a
wikipedia visit I established it's the name of a drink, and the gentleman who collected said drink wouldn't win any lookalike contests.

We've done a few Denver parks and Tess really is becoming the
aficionado of swings. The local park is a personal favourite... Video to come. Above is a photo of Tess a the
Cinquo di Mayo
(apologies to Spanish Speakers the world over.) She's a reluctant wearer of
headwear at the best of times. The keen observer may see how this picture was staged.

The day at the ball game was heaps of fun. We were part of a Mexican wave that circled Coors field four times and we indulged in Rocky Dogs. We were able to last long enough to see the Rockies close out the game in the 9
th innings. How does that jargon sound? I don't even know what I said. Tess, as usual, made friends all over the place. We caught her waving and smiling at a little boy three seats back. He was waving and smiling also. Quite a cute moment, all told. In fact, the plays in the background of our family snap are the most crucial of the entire game... little did we know.

We had a tour of the capital building and we had dinner at a legendary Mexican
restaurants, known widely for the shows performed there and less for the culinary delights that come out of the kitchen. We watched the cliff diver as he dove 30 odd feet into a 15 foot deep pool. Tess was
unfazed by the darkened journey through Bad Bart's cave and marveled at the puppet show. Our video shows her delighting in a game of peek a boo. She can't get enough of it at the moment. Our next blog
will be coming from the East. We set off in a fortnight for Washington DC. Jason finishes the school year in just 2 weeks and will attend his
seniors graduation this Friday. He needs to wear a gown so we look forward to that photo.
