A couple of weeks ago we headed up the mountain to meet Suzi's sister, Sarah, and her family. Sarah, Mike and Lily live in a fabulous log house up in Pine, a beautiful mountain location outside of Denver. Mike built the house himself and we were amazed to see moose, caribou and elk mounted on the walls. They actually have mule deer roaming their yard (we made eye contact and mouthed 'run!'). I tried to take some photos of the views from their deck but I couldn't capture nature. We tried some American treats (queso and burgers). Lily is 8 years old and was the perfect host with Tess. She brought out all her toys, most of which were bigger than Tess. Then she told us that Tess wanted to watch a movie and made a bed on the rug and tucked her up. Tess was very compliant. She also gave Tess a toy puppy, which is now her favourite.
On Saturday we went to the home of a former exchangee to Adelaide and learnt how to make tamales. They were steamed in corn husks and we are quite the experts in eating them now. Apparently, Australians know nothing about Mexican cuisine. We intend to do lots of research into Mexican food while we are here.
I finally drove the monster truck.
Have included a vid of Tess in the jumper. She likes to dance with Jason each afternoon.
This weekend we are off to Vail! I know! Vail!
Bye for now x
A jolly little jumper. Love the photos!
